My Family spent several weeks in the Galapagos and Quito, Ecuador. We had such a wonderful time. Our guide, Juan, was fabulous. He really made the trip. He was born in the Galapagos and new all the best places to visit. Our boat, the Samba, was small and nimble and could go places other boats could not. Yes it made for an exciting time on a couple of occasions in the open Pacific but it was well worth it.

The animals in the Galapagos are amazing. Some exist only there an nowhere else. The sea lions play with you as your snorkeling. I swam with three kinds of sharks, sea turtles, rays, and countless fish. The birds are beautiful and everywhere you look. Lizards and giant turtles look like they’ve been forgotten by time. The marine iguana can swim in the ocean. Nowhere else in the world can you see that. Oh and I swam with penguins and the water was warm!

Quito has a lovely old town. Got to stand on the equator where I was 2lbs lighter. Instant weight loss!
